An all breed agility trial, organized by STCNE was conducted in the Northford Connecticut Field house April 23 - 24th. The events was a great success and allowed participants and audience an opportunity to view the different breeds at work.
Besides differences in size and other physical characteristics we were able to study the difference in approach from the “serious working dogs” like Boxers, Dobermans and a Rottweiler to the playful smaller dogs from the toy group. Herding dogs were very prominent participants displaying extreme focus on the task ahead coupled with great energy and explosive speed.
Some of the dogs appeared aware of the need to look good and were groomed to perfection while running the course with grace and speed.
What about Scotties? They performed well even their occasional displays of independence.
