Scottish Terrier Club of New England, inc. Website

The Scottish terrier club of New England, Inc. and its current Board of Trustees wishes that you understand our website mission as  a transparent communication Tool welcoming all members through the pages of the site.

The first page of the website states the mission of the club. We have sought to preserve and promote the breed since 1939. We do this through our activities. These activities include an annual specialty event, rescue and adoption activities, and educational meetings. Three fundraisers are held throughout the year to help support these missions. The first page of the website also shows usually the next upcoming activity. The bottom of the page has an opportunity to click on the constitution and code of ethics.

The next page, or club information tab, which has “at a glance” all the activities that are planned for the year. Also, under this club info tab are pages where people can: inquire about membership, obtain breeder information, or find out more about our nonprofit activities. Breeder information is firewall limited to a phone number or email of the breeders’ designated representative without identified breeder names, prices, or policies such as mandatory spay- neuter requirements. This anonymity was provided at breeder request despite earlier club requests.  Availability of puppies is limited to a monthly report to the board and is only provided by the designated breeder representative.  We do not have any contractual relationship with breeder members of STCNE.  We cannot assist you in your negotiations.

We have a detail page of upcoming events with clear indication of when they will occur, where they will occur, and how a member decides to become involved. This gives ample opportunity for planning of those who wish to be at various meetings.

We maintain a Web log (“blog”) of our activities which gives the club the opportunity to share past events, important facts about our breed, and timely issues. See the most recent posting of the Specialty 2022.

We have a rescue program which is documented on the website. People can begin the process looking for a dog at this location. The current rescue team is featured in a picture on the weblog page.

The website also provides an opportunity for people to contact us. we encourage people to know more about upcoming activities, find a breeder or rescue dog, or inquire about volunteering at events. We welcome suggestions including willingness to serve as a committee chair or work group chair or member.  We are always looking for new ways to bring people and their Scottish terriers together.
